Mosquito Swarms
Allex Michael: This year has been relatively free of mosquitoes until today. Ebbey was literally covered within seconds. We had to run just to keep them off.

Heat Wave
It's just way too hot for me.
Allex Michael: Ebbey just isn't great in the heat. So I try to take her for walks early or later to avoid the midday sun. If we're near water it helps, as she can often be convinced to wade in and cool down.

Mistress Fearful
Allex Michael: Dogs pick up on your fear, but they don't always understand it. Out on a late night walk, two guys drove by in two old beater cars. Despite Ebbey and the Rottweiler's presence, they drove by us two more times...sizing us up. After the third time, we hid behind a hedge and watched as they drove past for a fourth time. Both men appeared to be searching for us. So I tried to run the dogs down a side street, only the rottweiler doesn't like to run on leash. She'd rather stay and take care of the problem vs running to avoid trouble. Needless to say we lived another day. It must have been a slow day for serial killers, if we were the only available victims.

What a Good Girl NOW
Allex Michael: While walking today, I remembered back when I first adopted Ebbey and how bad she was. Even after owning her for a year, she would still run off when seeing another dog. Then I would have to run the quarter mile or more to get her back. Compared to back then, Ebbey is such a good girl now.

Naughty Owner, Naughty Dog
Allex Michael: It only takes a few people to ruin it for the rest of us. Please clean up after your dog. The last few nights I've seen this guy standing at a school yard entrance while his dog goes and craps in the school yard. The third night he saw us, and then kept on walking.
